Stay tuned as Mia's under saddle career finally gets going!
Mia is double bred Skip Bright which also makes her double bred Skipper's Lad, Bright Starlette and Bright Eyes Brother. Her bloodlines also include Superior AQHA Halter mare Possum Honey, and ApHC greats such as Double Bid, Double Patch, Kathy and Patchy among many others. Other AQHA greats in her pedigree include Skipper Jr, Sir Teddy Jr, Sir Teddy, Sirlette, Star Duster, Plaudit (7 crosses in 8 generations), three crosses in the first 5 generations and a total of 5 crosses in 6 generations to Skipper W and many many more. Mia also has two Joe Reed II daughters on her dam side in her 5th generation. Mia is heavily Weiscamp bred and it shows!
She is a huge long bodied mare, but has great agility and athleticism. We think Mia is just plain one hell of a mare and truly something special to us. For more information on Mia's breeding, please see our Broodmare Bloodlines page.
Mia was confirmed in foal to Joe, but unfortunately she lost the pregnancy in 2006. While we were devastated, it was through no fault of her own and we look forward to many great years ahead for this young mare. Stay tuned for our 2009 plans for Mia.
While Mia shares the more "opinionated" nature of many of the skipper horses, she is miss personality plus and has a heart of gold! She is also extremely athletic and we feel will be an all-around performer.
It is hard to see in the photos, but Mia has both palomino and chocolate colored spotting with lots of peacock spotting on both her large spots and her small spots.

Our deepest thanks to Pam and Larry Chitwood of Forsyth, Missouri for breeding Mia and allowing us to purchase her in 2001.
